Daytona Beach Guide June 2021
By Austyn O’Dwyer

After a long hiatus, which we will refer to as “the bad thing,” Daytona Beach and its surrounding areas are beginning to, finally, poke their heads into the sunshine. Beach goers splay towels out on the 500 feet (at low tide) of white sand, convertible classic cars cruise the streets, and restaurants open their doors wide for hungry patrons.
Though Daytona is famous for beach-related activities, there are numerous events happening near the International Speedway and Daytona Speedway RV you can take advantage of – if you’re in the know.
New to the area? Just visiting? Live here but forgot what month it is? Regardless of your situation, we’ll recap the best events/ activities for June 2021 to keep you entertained
The Streamline Hotel Memorial Weekend Bash

The iconic Streamline Motel was once the meeting place of NASCAR drivers looking to make a name in the fledgling sport. In modern times, this ‘Streamline Moderne-’ style motel has changed hands and functions more than even most locals recall. From bomb shelter to evangelical headquarters, to “den of iniquity” (as a local police officer described it some decades ago), this small hotel has garnered an air of mystery and intrigue, making it a hot commodity for many visitors.
Despite its checkered past, the Streamline Hotel has seen more TLC in recent years, undergoing extensive refurbishment and preservation. Its history is now displayed openly throughout the interior of the hotel – pictures and trinkets adorn the walls showing the progression of this time capsule throughout the 70+ years since its creation.
Having a DJ play on the roof of this hotel for Memorial Day might seem anachronistic, but that’s what the Streamline has come to be known as: a curio that transcends the ages. Be a part of this hotel’s ongoing history and join the festivities starting on June 27th throughout the weekend.
Kicking off with a “pregame BBQ feast” at noon, the event will continue well into Friday night – live music will be situated on the rooftop where, a lifetime before, NASCAR drivers discussed fair wages.
Live music and drink specials will continue throughout the weekend: you can purchase tickets for one, two, or all three days in advance.
The Daytona Tortugas - Summer Series
Are you a fan of baseball? No? Are you a fan of cheap beer and hotdogs on balmy summer evenings? Thought so.
The Daytona Tortugas, a farm team for the Cincinnati Reds, hosts daily baseball games at the iconic Jackie Robinson Ballpark throughout the month of June. Only a short car or motorcycle ride from Daytona Speedway RV, the newly upgraded ballpark offers exciting gameplay from the Tortugas coupled with fantastic drink and food deals.
If you are looking for a pleasant evening with friends or family, this is about as good as it gets. Tickets are on sale through the website. There are various deals that change daily, though I recommend checking out a Belly Buster Wednesday which offers “all-you-can-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, Marco’s Pizza, and popcorn starting at just $14 a ticket,” per the website.

Looking Ahead: NASCAR
The hot summer doldrums are slow for NASCAR races, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning your next NASCAR adventure in advance.
In August, the WaWa 250 is coming to Daytona International Speedway. Held the night before the storied Coke Zero Sugar 400 race, this 250 mile adrenaline-fueled sprint welcomes back NASCAR racing, which amps up significantly in the later months of 2021.
Tickets are on sale now though they sell fast.
June isn’t just about lounging on the beach: Daytona Beach has exciting events throughout the month that don’t involve sand in your shoes. Stay updated with events this summer by checking back frequently for Daytona Racetrack RV and Daytona Speedway RV updates and event listings.
Our second location, Daytona Racetrack RV, will be opening for Rockville 2021.
Happy lounging!
